About the Facilitator
Harold Graham is a semi-retired attorney who provides mediation services for Resolution with Litigation, Inc., Lone Star Legal Aid of Houston and the Dispute Resolution Center of Harris County.
Harold has been married for 57 years. He is a Korean War veteran. His first career was as an engineer starting in 1955 after his graduation from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
He earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University of Science and Technology. His first job after the Ph.D. was as a professor of Chemical Engineering, following which he joined industry and served in various management and research positions. Most of his engineering career was as a project manager in the international petroleum industry. He worked in South America, the Middle East, North Africa, Scandinavia, the Pacific Rim, Canada and Europe.
He retired from the petroleum industry in 1984, returned from Norway to the United States, and formed a successful engineering consulting company that he ran from 1984 until 1998.
In 1998 he attended the South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. After briefly working for a small Houston law firm, he formed his own firm. He then worked with Lone Star Legal Aid providing free legal services to below-the-poverty-line clients. He trained in civil law, family law, and child protective services mediation and began additional work with the Dispute Resolution Center of Harris County providing free mediation services to low income parties. He does not like litigation and refuses to take litigation cases. His interests and his legal work are in helping people solve their problems, legal or otherwise, by mediation.
